Chapitre 1 : Lien de sang

The collection is rooted in the love story of Miriam and Jacob, founders of the Évina family. It is conceived as a visual and sensory narrative that unfolds between art and design, tradition and modernity.

Meaning ‘bloodline’, Lien de sang is structured in six acts and explores various artisanal and artistic techniques: beading, painting, weaving.  Paying tribute to the defining chapters in the life of this couple who in 1950s Cameroon, fought to preserve and transmit not only the Béti heritage but also the broader cultural legacy of Cameroon to their children.

Lien de Sang is more than a collection. It is an emotional journey through family, art, and African culture. These pieces bring a unique breath of life into every space.

“LIEN DE SANG EXPLORES AND BLENDS THE CULTURES OF WESTERN CAMEROON AND THE BÉTI WORLD. THROUGH MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES, I SOUGHT TO CREATE PIECES THAT ARE UNIQUE, MEANINGFUL, AND FILLED WITH STORIES IN EVERY DETAIL. IT IS THE FIRST CHAPTER OF A SERIES OF COLLECTIONS. A TRIBUTE TO MY ROOTS.”

MAAPAMTAPESTRIES

Crowns of memory, transformed into mural poems.

Six hundred hours of work shape these two pieces. Organic cotton from Cameroon, woven in Foumban, layered with hand-woven beadwork. A slow, deliberate gesture, inherited and repeated, gives life to each unique piece.
